Photo Dump of Garden Delights

Like the title says, this is basically just a slew of photos of how the garden has been coming along in the last few weeks. Of course it never stands still, so just since taking some of the pictures things have changed significantly. For instance, the tulips and daffodils are almost completely over now, and the bare spaces are covered in pink fluffy shrubby things (three of them), and the peony which is barely perceptible has shot up and promises at least six good blooms this year as opposed to the meager one it provided last year when it was new. There are also more and more lily shoots daily coming up in different configurations, which have been liberally sprinkled with chunks of Irish Spring soap in a vain attempt at keeping the deer at bay. I keep saying I don't like pink, but pink bushes, roses and saxifrage have gone in just in the last couple of weeks. The pink rose being a climber that will hopefully someday make it up to the front porch from the side of the house.
I did have the long planter on the deck covering a section that is a bit rotted and dog-clawed out, but a blue and white rug has since solved that problem more efficiently until I can fill the hole, and the planter is strapped to the side of the deck so I can look out over it to the enclosure. The lavender is amazing to stand there and sniff on a warm late afternoon, and it is showing signs that things previously planted in it, like Creeping Jenny, left a little something of themselves behind. I'm not mad about it.

More and more things are coming out of the greenhouse and starting to breathe a little on the outdoor table, which is covered in yellow pollen at present. In the photo there are four pots and a seed tray. Now, in reality, there are more like seven pots and two trays, growing delphiniums, petunias, lunaria, and whole collections of thrillers, fillers, and spillers which just delight me every time I look out at it.

A friend recently contacted me and asked how the garden was going and we discussed how gardens are so helpful for mental health; and if we thought last year it was a requirement this year its like an emergency intervention. The garden is a life line.
