Just a quick update to say that it's been too wet to photograph the growing garden properly, and I still haven't cut down the oversized raised veg bed, but I have been improving the interior of the house. First of all I replaced all of the builder-grade pewter-colored knobs in the kitchen with lovely copper flower design ones. These currently look awful against the caramel (again, builder-grade) wood of the cabinets, but those are getting painted sometime this summer. You can see all of the different swatches taped to them to help me decide. For a while the ironically-named 'Mattasaurus rex' was in the lead, but in the end I went with one called something like 'Natural baize' which is an appropriate textile reference. It's got enough blue not to be yellow at all, but enough lightness to be bright.I tested this out by re-doing the cabinet in the master bath, which is the same, and which I am trying to overhaul into more of a spa retreat style, as hard as that is. I'll have to do a full update on the bathroom remodel when it is complete, but for now you can just see how the new color looks. Clearly it's a work in progress and the painting here is still not finished, but it's a start. In some lights it looks very aqua blue, and in others a bit gray, but mostly it looks a whole lot better than that bland tan leather color.
